Arthur Lang was born in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1893 . He began studying at the University of Glasgow , Scotland, in 1909 , taking Latin and Greek during his first year. In his second year he studied Latin, Greek and Political Economy. In his third year he studied, Latin, Greek and Moral Philosophy. In his fourth year he studied Greek and Latin.
