Charles Peter Stewart was born in Glasgow on 30 April 1928 . His father Charles Hugh Stewart was a medical practitioner. Charles studied medicine at the University of Glasgow from 1946-1951 and was awarded a second class certificate in Medical Jurisprudence for his examination results in 1950. Whilst at university, Charles and his brother established a typing and duplicating business called Stewart Bros. Charles graduated with an MBChB in July 1951 and subsequently practised medicine. These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
