Sir Denis William Brogan ( 1900-1974 ) was a British Historian and Political Scientist. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and was educated at Rutherglen Academy, the University of Glasgow, where he obtained his Master of Arts degree in 1923, and Balliol College, Oxford. He went on to study for a year at Harvard on a Rockefeller research fellowship. He held the position of professor of Political Science at Cambridge from 1939-1968 .
