James J MacLehose ( 1857-1943 ) was born in Glasgow to James MacLehose, publisher and bookseller to the University of Glasgow . He married Mary Macmillan the daughter of Alexander Macmillan, publisher in London, in 1896. MacLehose was educated at the University of Glasgow obtaining his Master of Arts degree in 1878 .
