James Goodsire studied at St Andrews from 1696, graduating with an MA in 1700. Thomas Taylor matriculated at St Andrews in 1693 and went on to be a regent at St Leonard's College, St Andrews, from at least 1698. He became professor of philosophy and requested the degree of Medical Doctor in 1707, although it is not recorded whether he gained this degree before his death in 1708.
