Tamasha was started in 1989 by Sudha Bhuchar and Kristine Landon-Smith. The company has continued, and now commissions new plays as well as adapting drama from classic literature. One of their aims is to produce plays that demonstrate Asian experiences, both in the UK and in the Indian subcontinent, and their work emphasises intercultural practice.
