Charles Samuel Myers (1873-1946), psychologist, was born in London on 13 March 1873. He attended the City of London School, and entered Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, in 1891, becoming a Fellow in 1919. In 1898 he joined the Cambridge anthropological expedition to the Torres Straits, where he carried out experimental studies on the sensory reactions of the natives and studied their music.
