Sir Graham Moore (1764-1843), younger brother of Sir John Moore, entered the Navy in 1777. He was a lieutenant in Lord Howe's fleet at the relief of Gibraltar in 1782, and was made a commander of ships in 1790, operating in the North Sea, off the French and Irish coasts, and in the Gulf of Mexico, 1790-1801. During 1804 Moore captured a Spanish treasure fleet off Cadiz in H.M.S. Indefatigable, and in 1807-1808 he escorted the Portuguese royal family to Brazil in the H.M.S. Marlborough . Moore wa...
