Sir Donald MacKenzie Wallace (1841-1919), newspaper correspondent, editor and author, student at various universities at home and abroad. Wallace visited Russia in 1870-1875. He was foreign correspondent of The Times at Constantinople, 1878-1884; private secretary to Lord Dufferin, viceroy of India, 1884-1888; and director of The Times, foreign department, 1891-1899.
