Henry Julius Wetenhall Tillyard was Professor of Greek at University College, Cardiff, 1926-46. He was an international authority on Byzantine music and the joint editor of Monumenta Musicae Byzantinae. A Russian Church Hirmologium was purchased at Nizhni Novgorod Fair in 1918 by Professor Tillyard and presented to the Library by him in 1949.
