Mary Ethel Steel [Creighton], oldest child of Samuel A. and Mary B. Steel, was born on 11 February 1876 in Virginia. In 1899 she married John H. Creighton; the couple had one son, William S. John Creighton died in January 1933. Ethel died on 11 August 1953.
