Graeme Roberts, husband of Cicely Mathews, was a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio presenter and actor in Northern Ireland. Roberts authored and presented numerous plays and short stories for Children’s Hour, Mathews’ children’s radio programme, which she ran from 1945-1964. Roberts also restarted a programme entitled Important To Us, which was a talk series on Irish affairs....

Cicely Mathews, wife of Graeme Roberts, was a children’s radio presenter in Northern Ireland. Her radio programme, Children’s Hour, aired every day at 5:00pm. Mathews was formerly an elocution teacher, and had acted in more than 100 BBC radio plays before taking over Children’s Hour in 1945. Children’s Hour was withdrawn in 1964 due to the increasing popularity of television. Mathews died in 1975....
