This series consists of inspection files from product testing by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The files contain correspondence, reports, and product packaging. The correspondence details FDA findings of product efficiency and cites any safety concerns resulting from the review of the product or its packaging. The reports detail the type of product being tested, method of testing, and outcome of tests. Some reports also deal with factory inspections and rate lighting, cleanliness, and employee behavior and appearance. The records include information on many products, including sugar, vegetables and other foodstuffs, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and insecticides.
