This series consists of records maintained by Thad Page in his capacity as Administrative Secretary of the National Archives. The records include correspondence, memorandums, notes, lists, reports, and ephemera.
Subjects of the records include the planning for the dedication of the National Archives Building, services to members of Congress, conducting tours for distinguished visitors, budget planning, the display of the German and Japanese surrender documents on the "Victory Loan Train" in 1945, the establishment and organization of the National Archives Trust Fund Board and the National Historical Publications Commission, and the role of the National Archives in records management and records retirement.
Records of interest in this series include a certified copy of the National Archives Act, received from the Department of State in December 1935; a report and survey recapitulation from the Provisional Committee for a National Archives, from 1930; and a journal of events in the history of the National Archives, covering the period 1926-1937.
