Copies of Land Allotment Applications and Related Papers Completed by Laguna Pueblo Indians, 1912–1912

1912

This series consists of information compiled on three General Land Office forms: Indian allotment application, individual history card, and land card. The following information is included on the allotment application: English name, Indian name, age, tribe, legal description of the land proposed for allotment, acreage, character of the land, and applicant's marital status. The applications are either signed or accompanied by the applicant's mark. The individual history card includes the same information given in the application plus the applicant's year of birth, name of parents and grandparents, brothers and half brothers, sisters and half sisters, and aunts and uncles. The land card includes information given in the other two forms. Many of the forms were apparently completed for children by their parents.
