This series consists of a record of expenditures for goods and services, listed under the correct appropriation fund. Entries include the name of the payee, the amount, and an analysis of the expenditure, and show the month or months in which payments were made. Monthly subtotals summarize the transactions and activity sheets are included. The fund categories in these records generally coincide with those in the series "Appropriation Ledgers, 1917-1933" (ARC Identifer 4522404).

Hayward Boarding School

The Hayward Indian School in Hawyward, Wisconsin, was opened in 1901 as a boarding school for the Chippewa of the Lac Courte Oreille Reservation. It was subordinate to the La Pointe Agency until 1904. About 1911 it was given agency duties for the reservation.
