This series consists of school census reports. The records include annual school census reports prepared on Standard Form 5-255a, and submitted to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs by the Superintendent of Flandreau School. The records provide information on all of the children in the Flandreau District, ages 5 - 18, including those in mission, private, public, and government schools. The information in the reports includes the child's name; sex; grade; tribe; the degree of Indian blood; citizenship; the distance from school; the name of parent or guardian; the name of the school the child is attending; the length of the school term; and the reasons for non-attendance.
