This series consists of decimal correspondence. The records include letters received and copies of letters sent; forms; reports; maps; memorandums; invoices; receipts; minutes; telegrams; vouchers; and other documents created or received in the course of operating the agency. There is correspondence with all classes of agency correspondents, from the Office of Indian Affairs (Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1947) to business firms, agency employees, private individuals and other Indian schools. While the superintendent's office was directly involved in the creation or receipt of much of the documentation, other agency officials and administrative divisions are also represented. Topics include tribal enrollment; Indian allotments; leases; agricultural extension work; employment; school finances; supplies; and property. There are reports documenting supplies and inventory, as well as accepted and rejected contract bids, relating to all working departments of the Flandreau School.
