This series consists of copies of letters sent and letters received by the Pierre Indian School superintendent relating to IECW and CCC-ID activities at the school and surrounding area. The school superintendent was responsible for administering emergency conservation work activities undertaken within his jurisdiction. Included within the correspondence files are notices, orders, reports, work plans, reports and essays, drawings and blueprints of project activities, and cost analysis of projects. The subject content of the records covers the broad area of conservation work and vocational education and employment of Indians. Correspondents include the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, the Director of the IECW and CCC-ID, Production Coordinating Officer, Assistant Forester, CCC-ID Camp Director, Indian Enrollees, school and local CCC-ID staff, superintendents of Indian agencies, private contractors and businessmen, and the public.
