These records document the Civilian Conservation Corps Indian Division (CCC-ID) work at the Pipestone Indian School and Agency. The records include correspondence, circulars, memos, vouchers, copies of telegrams sent and telegrams received, appropriations, minutes of tribal meetings of those tribes under the Pipestone Agency jurisdiction, inventory of CCC-ID equipment and property, changes in personnel and positions, transfer orders of funds and property, general account ledger sheets, CCC-ID project proposals, programs, progress reports, travel itineraries of various officials, and other records pertaining to the administration and maintenance of CCC-ID programs and property.

Pipestone Indian Industrial Training School

Established in 1893, the Pipestone Indian School was built on land taken from the Yankton reservation at the Pipestone Quarry. The Yankton people long contested that loss and won before the Supreme Court in 1926. In 1894 the formation of the Pipestone Indian Training School was authorized on the uninhabited Yankton Pipestone reservation.
