This series consists of records of the club which functioned as a mess operated by the staff of the school and agency. Pages on the left side of the ledger record club dues paid by the employees who are listed in organizational hierarchal order. Pages on the right list expenditures, in date order, with name of person or company, type of goods, or service, and amount. Some loose pages consist of vendor bills.

Mount Pleasant Indian Industrial Boarding School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, was established by an act of the United States Congress in 1891. This provided funding for creation of an education system of off-reservation boarding schools and vocational training centers to educate Native American children.
