This series consists of education subject files. The records provide information on all aspects of the administration and management of schools on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. The files include letters received and copies of letters sent. The records include annual school reports; progress reports; Aberdeen Area Office memorandums; school census records; financial records, including requisitions and credit card receipts; orders for equipment and supplies; student essays; examination scores and results; applications to attend Flandreau School and Haskell Institute; and newsletters from the reservation boarding school. Other topics covered in the files include purchasing; construction projects; Indian student enrollment and attendance; Indian fairs; vehicles; meetings; and personnel management.
