Judson Studios was founded in 1897 in Los Angeles, California, by William Lees Judson. It became famous for its elaborate stained glass windows that were installed around the country, in churches as well as buildings designed by noted figures like Frank Lloyd Wright. Judson Studios also worked in tile and mosaics, but it was stained glass that gave the organization its reputation. Frederick Wilson (1858-1932) was born in Dublin, Ireland to Charles and Elizabeth Wilson. He was raised in Liverpool and London, England, where he was educated in both traditional academics, artistic training, and religious iconography. Wilson began his artistic career in England in the late 1870s, where he is listed in census records as a Stained Glass Artist.
