This series consists of photographs documenting the activities of the United States delegation to the World Conference of the International Women's Year. The National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year received these photographs from several sources, including the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, the United States Information Service in Mexico (USIS-Mexico), and the United Nations. Among the photographs in this series are pictures of Kurt Waldheim, Secretary General of the United Nations, addressing the delegates at the opening ceremony (220-IWX-1-7) and a panoramic photograph of the assembled delegates that was taken by David Tellez S. of Mexico (220-IWX-5-1). Also included is a photograph of members of the U.S. delegation at a press conference (220-IWX-2-1). Pictured are Patricia Hutar, U.S. Representative to the United Nations Commission of the Status of Women and chair of the U.S. delegation, U.S. Deputy Solicitor General Jewel Lafontant, and Jill E. Ruckelshaus, the presiding officer for the National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year. Most of the photographs are uncaptioned.

Patricia Miller Hutar (January 5, 1926-April 14, 2010) was an American Republican politician and activist.
