George Ryoichi Ariyoshi (born March 12, 1926) is an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the third governor of Hawaii from 1974 to 1986. Daniel K. Inouye (b. September 7, 1924 – d. December 17, 2012) was a United States Senator from Hawaii from 1963 to 2012. He was a member of the Democratic Party and served as President pro tempore of the United States Senate from 2010 until his death.
