Ephemera relating to a 1984 staging of George Orwell's 1984 as adapted by Denise Coffey, an environmental theater production in which the audience members participated. Consists of clippings, color snapshots of the town and performance, a tourist brochure, a press release, an audience instruction sheet, a paper jumpsuit, and an envelope of other props such as identity cards and badges. The instruction sheet bears the name of the donor, Waldo Stewart, who was apparently a participant.

The Shaw Festival is a major not-for-profit theatre festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. It is the second largest repertory theatre company in North America. Founded in 1962, its original mandate was to stimulate interest in George Bernard Shaw and his period, and to advance the development of theatre arts in Canada. The Festival's roots can be traced to 1962 when Ontario lawyer and playwright Brian Doherty, supported by Buffalo businessman Calvin Rand, staged a summertime "Salut...
