This series consists of two albums, one duplicate album, and a folder of loose prints documenting activities of the Bureau of the Census during the enumeration of 1940. One of the albums is entitled "A Pictorial Record of the Sixteenth Decennial Census-1940". Photographs in two albums are captioned. One album (box 2) is labeled "File Copy" and has duplicates of prints in albums A and B. Photographs show enumerators, editors, machine operators, and other employees. Also, of note in this collection are photographs depicting segregated and crowded working conditions at the bureau. A small group of prints show motion picture personalities such as Tyrone Power and Alice Faye with numerators.
