This film, narrated by Raymond Massey, tells of the "uncommon valor" displayed by U.S. Marine Corps soldiers in keeping America safe, and more specifically, on their battle for Iwo Jima. Scenes detail the story behind the construction of the memorial that depicted the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima, with an epilogue plea for the purchase of savings bonds/stamps by actor Tyrone Power.
