Closed Case Files

1934-1935

This series consists of letters, memoranda, complaint forms, and printed form letters relating to the enforcement of codes of fair competition and complaints regarding violations of these codes. The core of each complaint file is a form letter which informs the company or individual that a complaint was filed and then outlines the specifics of that complaint. When the case was closed another form was created to close out the complaint. This closing form records the name of the firm in question, the address of the company or firm, the kind of business the firm did, the source of the complaint, the kind of action taken in response to the complaint, the results of that response, the investigator's name, and the date the complaint was closed. This series is only a partial set of the closed case files. It includes only part of the closed case files under the letter "B" and all of the closed case files for the letters "C" and "D." The records were collected and maintained by the Compliance Division.
