Newspaper columnist, author, and newspaper editor Thomas Fleming (1907 - 2006 ) was an accomplished writer and the founder of two San Francisco Bay Area African American newspapers. He also wrote a a syndicated column, "Reflections on Black History," which was sent to more than 200 African American newspapers nationwide. On his 90th birthday in 1997, Fleming published a collection of stories and photos from his early boyhood in Jacksonville and Harlem. Fleming was interviewed by The HistoryMakers on 3/29/2002, in San Francisco, California. This collection is comprised of the video footage of the interview.
