This video documents President George H. W. Bush meeting with Nelson Mandela, President of the African National Congress, on June 25, 1990. Mrs. Barbara Bush joined President Bush to greet Mr. Mandela and his wife Winnie Mandela. President Bush and Mr. Mandela made statements to the press before their meetings. United States participants in the meetings included: Vice President Dan Quayle, Secretary of State James Baker, National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft, and Herman J. Cohen of the State Department.
