The series covers a wide range of public relations, legislative, political and administrative topics, including office administration; agriculture; armed services, including disarmament, manpower, and military installations in Texas; civil rights; commerce, including trade, exports, imports, and transportation; presidential nominations, including those to the judiciary in Texas; disasters, including Hurricane Carla; education; elections and campaigns; foreign relations, including Africa, Berlin, Cuba, the Far East, Latin America, Mexico, the Middle East, the Peace Corps, Russia and the Soviet Union, and Yugoslavia; labor, including the President’s Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity; the national budget; natural resources, including water, gas, and oil; politics, particularly Texas politics; Johnson’s public activities including, awards, biographic information, condolences on the death of Speaker Sam Rayburn in 1961, invitations, public appearances and travel; press relations; public works, including many Texas dams, reservoirs, parks, and public power; space and aeronautics; taxes; and welfare.
