Allen, John G.
Chief Boatswain, U.S. Navy.
Born in Ithaca, New York, May 17, 1889, and enlisted in the Navy in 1906, spending much of his Navy career on battleships. He was transferred to the Fleet Naval Reserve on Feb. 18, 1928. Returned to active duty as a Chief Boatswain in 1943 and assigned as Boatswain of the Section Base at San Pedro, Cal. where he served until relieved from active duty on May 31, 1945.
