Auxiliary Services is a constituent component of the Office of Finance and Business at North Carolina State University. It was eventually merged into the Operations Department, and is now known as the Operations and Auxiliary Services Department.

The Purchasing Department provides assistance involving the purchasing activities of the University. This includes help with all purchasing functions in the financial system, plus training and system issues. The Department also reviews and approves most contractual issues.

In 2011, Finance and Business at NC State consists of units: Campus Enterprises, Centennial Campus Development, Environmental Health and Public Safety, Facilities Division, Finance and Resource Management, Human Resources, and the Treasurer's Office. These organizations report to the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business, and they provide infrastructure services essential to supporting the students, faculty and staff of the university. As one time the position of Vice Chancellor was known as the Assistant Controller.

Central Stores is the University office assigned the responsibility for the disposal of obsolete and surplus property on campus. This function is carried out by the Campus Surplus section of Central Stores.
