Henry Biederbick (b. January 25, 1859, Waldeck, Germany-d. March 25, 1916), came to the United States in 1879. In 1881 he joined the Lady Franklin Bay Arctic Expedition under Lieutenant Adolphus Greely, serving until 1884. He served as hospital steward and assistant to the naturalist of the expedition party. One of the surviving members of the expedition, he was rescued at Cape Sabine by Admiral Schley in 1884. He later served as U.S. Inspector of Customs.
