Mars Hill Baptist Church (Mars Hill, N.C.)
Variant names
Mars Hill Baptist Church, in Mars Hill, NC, was originally constituted in 1856 as Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In September 1860, the congregation voted to change the name of the church to Mars Hill Baptist Church. Early meetings were sometimes held in buildings on the campus of Mars Hill College, until the congregation could afford to build a separate church building.
