Mars Hill Baptist Church; 67 N Main Street, Mars Hill, NC 28754; 28 June 1856, originally constituted as Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; September 1860, the congregation voted to change the name of the church to Mars Hill Baptist Church; early meetings were sometimes held in buildings on the campus of Mars Hill College, until the congregation could afford to build a separate church building
