Tae, Chʻŏn-dŏk,
Episcopalian priest, educator; born Reuben Archer Torrey III on January 19, 1918 into a family of prominent evangelists and missionaries; ordained a priest in the Episcopal church in 1946; served as a pastor in the United States (1946-ca. 1957) and as rector of St. Michael's Theological College in Korea (ca. 1957-1965); founded and led Jesus Abbey, a retreat center in Korea, in 1965- .
