Salomon, Edward, 1828-1909
Variant namesPrussian immigrant who settled in Wisconsin in 1849 where he became a lawyer. A Lincoln supporter, Salomon was elected lieutenant governor in 1861 and succeeded to the governorship when Governor Louis P. Harvey drowned, serving April 19, 1862-January 4, 1864. In 1869 Salomon moved to New York to practice law.
