Joe Milton Morris was born on December 27, 1918 in Larkinsville, Alabama. He later relocated to Clovis, New Mexico and Lubbock, Texas, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Second World War. After the war, he worked for many years with the Texas Pacific Oil Company. Outside of work, he was a dedicated and prolific collector of piano rolls, player pianos, cylinder audio recordings, and other legacy media formats and mechanical instruments. Morris died in Dallas on June 16, 2013.
