Hinchman Haines was a male Quaker minister from Evesham, NJ. He was born in August 1767 to Noah Haines and Hannah Thorn Haines. Haines married several times, including to Mary Warrington (b. 1763) and Rebecca Lippincott (b. 1774). He began to act as a minister around 1803. Over the course of his life, Haines traveled extensively in the ministry, visiting the majority of the Yearly Meetings in the United States. He was active in the Philadelphia-area Quaker community during the Hicksite-Orthodox schism of 1827, in which he sided with the Orthodox Quakers. Haines died in early 1853 at the age of 85, having been a minister for almost 50 years.
