Betty was enslaved by George Washington at Dogue Run Farm, Virginia, part of the Mount Vernon Estate. She was the daughter of Ben, an enslaved plougher, and Joan. She was freed by Washington's will in 1800. Betty had a child, Jane Lomax, about 1806.
