Art gallery; Los Angeles, Calif.

Founded 1921 by Earl Stendahl, the Galleries were an important part of Los Angeles' early 20th century arts scene. Initially the focus of the Galleries was on Pre-Columbian and "primitive" art, though contemporary artists were exhibited later.
