Milroy; September-November 1863 commanded Post of Martinsburg, WVa. After war lived in Bradford County and Baltimore, Md. 1870 graduated from Geneva, N. Y. Medical College but never practiced medicine; general agent of Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Co, Oct. 30, 1876 died at Baltimore and buried in LeRaysville Cemetery; Children: Martin W. Pierce (1855-1898); son Fay H. Pierce (Oct. 13, 1859 born-May 25, 1948 died in Broome County, N. Y.); Mary H. Pierce (Oct. 25, 1864 born-Nov. 11, 1866 died)
