Pierce, Lewis B., Sept. 2, 1831 born at Le Raysville, Pa., son of Benjamin and Mehetable Brink Pierce; resident of Bradford County, Pa. married Elizabeth H. Black Pierce (1828 born-July 23, 1880 died); merchant and farmer; 1858-1861 auditor of public accounts for Bradford County; Nov. 7, 1861 or Feb. 17, 1862 enlisted in Bradford County as ltcol., 12th Pa. Cavalry Rgt. April 21 or 23, 1862 col. May-August 1862 commanded Post of Manassas, Va. April-June 1863 acting assistant inspector general on staff MajGen. Robert H. Milroy; September-November 1863 commanded Post of Martinsburg, WVa. After war lived in Bradford County and Baltimore, Md. 1870 graduated from Geneva, N. Y. Medical College but never practiced medicine; general agent of Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance Co, Oct. 30, 1876 died at Baltimore and buried in LeRaysville Cemetery; Children: Martin W. Pierce (1855-1898); son Fay H. Pierce (Oct. 13, 1859 born-May 25, 1948 died in Broome County, N. Y.); Mary H. Pierce (Oct. 25, 1864 born-Nov. 11, 1866 died)
