Residents of Charleston and Fairfield Districts (now known as Charleston and Fairfield Counties), S.C.; William Aiken (1781-1831), a merchant of Charleston, S.C., was husband of Henrietta Wyatt Aiken and father of William Aiken, Jr. (1806-1877); William Aiken (1806-1877) was U.S. Representative (1838-1844), S.C. Governor (1844-1846), U.S. Senator (1851-1857), and husband of Henrietta Lowndes Aiken; David Aiken (1786-1860) was husband of Nancy Kerr Aiken and father of Hugh Kerr Aiken; Hugh Kerr Aiken, planter and cotton factor of Charleston and Fairfield District, S.C., was husband of Mary Gayle Aiken.
