Selim (Schooner)
The schooner Selim, of New Orleans, was a supply ship during the Mexican War, and also served as a pilot ship in Vera Cruz in 1848. Under Captain Joseph N. Batson, the Selim arrived in Vera Cruz a week after Scott captured the city in 1847. The Selim operated as a general supply ship out of Vera Cruz, with runs to both Frontera, Mexico, and New Orleans. The Selim was sold by Batson on August 14, 1848.
