Augustus Arthur Vansittart (1824-1882) was born on 24 July 1824, the son of General George Henry Vansittart of Bisham Abbey, Berkshire. He attended Eton, before matriculating at Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1843 (B.A., 1847; M.A., 1850), where he became a fellow in 1848. He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1849, and called to the bar in 1852. Vansittart produced a collation of readings of the New Testament. He died in Cambridge on 17 April 1882.

B. Drake may be Bernard William Francis Drake (1824-1854), an Eton scholar, who matriculated at King's College, Cambridge, in 1844, and entered the Inner Temple in 1846.

Richard Shilleto (1809-1876) was admitted to Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1828, to study classics. He became assistant tutor, dean, and praelector of Peterhouse, Cambridge.
