Pipestone Indian Industrial Training School
Variant namesIndian industrial training school opened by the U.S. government in 1893 in Pipestone, Minn., to assimilate Indian children into white society rhrough education and industrial training; school grew from a single building to 55 buildings, with a decline and final closure to to changes in Indian policy in the 1950s.
