Eleazar T. Fitch was Livingston Professor of Divinity at Yale from 1817 to 1852. His main duty was the supply of the Yale College pulpit. He was Lecturer on Homiletic at the Yale Divinity School from 1824 to 1861.

  • 1815: Graduated from Andover Theological Seminary, where he assisted Jeremiah Evarts in editing the Panopolist.

  • 1817: Returned to New Haven to serve as LivingstonProfessor of Divinity in Yale College, a position vacated by the death of President Timothy Dwight.
